Blue Stahli “Tourism” will be my place for documenting the behind the scenes of touring with Celldweller. I expect full on ridiculousness, tomfoolery and the like, spiked with a little of the bizarre . . . here, our tour manager Ryle discovers a box full of Stahli.
A little peek at the backing video for ‘Frozen’ that you’ll see Klayton and me perform during the Celldweller live tour:
First up, a few words from me at late-o-clock in the morning telling you about the remix contest for my song “Corner”. Go to Fixt Remix and get crackin’ on some booty-shaking beats to win some fantastic prizes from Fabfilter, Korg, Sonalksis, and Prime Loops:
And something completely amazing . . . Animattronic made this incredible video with custom animation, graphics, additional music and a heaping helping of “rad” to help announce the contest. I am freakishly grateful and wildly appreciative of this feat of generous creativity (seriously Animattronic, point to the person you want killed and I’ll take a run at ‘em in a parking lot while wearing a ninja outfit). Help spread the word about the Corner remix contest by reposting this video to your friends, your fave forums and the like, and absolutely visit Animattronic’s page HERE for more visually stimulating art, slick animation, and diverse music. Hit that remix contest HERE and show me what you got.
I *could* tell you that my silence was related to a massive amount of time being spent on Celldweller live show and working on my album . . . sure, I could say that. But the truth is much closer to insanely choreographed Bollywood dance numbers with Matrix-esque wire work, a high body count, a beautiful Indian princess (who, all joking aside, should call me immediately), more blatant Desperado ripoffs than you can shake a stick at and a reserved amount of hip gyration. In order to provide an accurate summary, I’ll just post the video that was taken.
You read that header correctly. In the Paris Issue of The Dose magazine, you’ll find a 3 page interview with me. Besides my general ridiculousness, talking art, music and inspiration, what can you expect to find in the rest of the pages of this fine publication? A wide array of art, music, culture, fashion, parkour, the latest tech, and a few things off in the fringe. For you instant gratification types, the issue comes in PDF form for quick mental devouring. Snag your copy right HERE.
I *may* have linked to this before, but it bears a second look. This bit of stylishly edited visual/audio artgasm is the 2008 showreel of director/designer/photographer Christopher Hewitt aka Dstrukt. And just as much as I dig the rapid fire expertly assembled deluge of striking imagery, I also am start-picking-out-china style in love with this piece of music created by Hecq. The whole damn thing just seems to embody elegance and precision with a little bit of danger that tells you not to turn your back on it for fear of waking up in a bathtub full of ice and a hastily written note informing you that you have X amount of time to get an ambulance as your kidneys have just been removed without your consent. Hecq has quite the catalog and has recently been bringing his signature touch to more dubstep oriented fare. Check out his new tracks and some amazing albums right here.
All of those things you do behind closed doors? . . . This thing. Watching you do ‘em.
I’m addicted to the song “Armor All’d Out” by Diego Bernal that accompanies this particular bit of video creepery. You can download his album absolutely for free at Exponential Records.
Just look at that steely dead stare dripping with malicious intent.
He does not play his accordion for you . . . but at you.
